LOS ALTOS, Calif.–Outsourcing Everything But the Kitchen Sink: Empowering Americans Through Education and Innovation by Michele Ellie Ahi strives to be the ultimate guide on outsourcing and protecting American jobs.

Outsourcing jobs in America seems to be a fact of life, says author Ahi in her new book, Outsourcing Everything But the Kitchen Sink. Most outsourced jobs, feels Ahi, are not coming back unless Americans educate themselves to become globally literate and enable themselves to compete with China, India and the rest of the world. Ahi insists managers need to update their skills to work on global projects effectively and America needs to encourage its people to compete on a global level.

Ahi presents a roster of ideas and solutions, including the “Global Fair Employment Balancing Act,” whereby a company must hire at least 70 percent of the labor and talent needed for a project from its home company. In return, the company would receive tax credits. She also advocates for global education, teaching managers how to deal with cross-national barriers such as culture, language and values in order to engage in business more effectively.

“There are real solutions to the growing problems of joblessness in America,” Ahi states, “ones that can reinstate America as a technological and innovative superpower.”
